Student Assistance Programs

The Standards of Learning (SOL) Booster Program provides small group tutorial assistance on the Standards of Learning.  Students are eligible if they meet one of the following requirements:

  • did not meet the Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS) benchmarks,

  • failed a previously administered Standards of Learning (SOL) test,

  • made low scores on local assessments.

The focus at all levels is on the core areas of English, mathematics, science, and history. Intense tutoring helps to prepare students for Standards of Learning Tests and related local assessments. Transportation is provided at the conclusion of each tutoring session.

Since each school sets up its own schedule, parents should contact the school principal for additional details.
